Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a former world number one, has endured a difficult season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with former trainer Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from spring of the previous year.
Victory also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an better serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.
The pair traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional championship, took control to force a decider.
The opponent defended four early-game break points in a close third set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
